About Ask The LibraryUse this online reference service for help and guidance when searching for information online. Librarians from public and academic libraries throughout Sweden can help you with book tips, finding sources of information and searching the libraries' databases. Use the online chat service to search for information together with a librarian. BackgroundAsk The Library began as a free service in 1998 and is since 2003 run as a project with Örebro City Library as project leader. Since 1st July 2006, the service is managed by the Information and Inter-Lending Centres in Malmö, Stockholm and Umeå on behalf of the Swedish Arts Council. About 70 public libraries throughout Sweden help to staff the service. Ask The Library is supplemented by two specialised services: Ask In Other Languages and Ask The Children's Library.
